In my opinion, the best-stuffed mushrooms are filled with spinach and lots of cheese!. Mushroom Stuffed with Spinach Appetizer is easy to prepare. Simply prepare a quick and simple cheese filling, mushroom scrub, stalk cracker, filling, and bread. Then, of course, indulge when the weather gets warm with that sticky melted cheese! 


Christmas Appetizer: Mushroom Stuffed with Spinach

Ingredients:

  • 24 large fresh mushrooms.
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  • 8 ounces of hot Italian sausage.
  • A cup of finely chopped onions.
  • A cup of sweet red pepper, finely chopped.
  • Minced garlic clove.
  • 1 cup chopped fresh spinach.
  • Parmesan cheese finely grated.
  • Soft bread crumbs.

Directions:

  • The oven is heated to 425 degrees.
  • Gently rinse the mushrooms with paper towels and allow them to dry completely.
  • Remove the stems, chop, and set aside.
  • Grease the baking tray lightly.
  • Place the mushroom caps on the prepared baking tray.
  • Grease the caps with olive oil and sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • In a skillet, cook chopped mushrooms, sausages, onions, paprika, and garlic over medium heat until the sausage turns brown.
  • Strain the grease. Stir in spinach and cook until wilted.
  • Add parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs.
  • Pour the sausage mixture with a spoon into the mushroom caps.
  • Stuffed mushrooms are baked in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes; Or until the filling is browned and mushrooms are cooked.
