Zinfandel is made from the Croatian grape Crijenak and this wine is produced in all of California’s wine areas. Zinfandel is usually a brawny, smooth and richly flavored wine and California has ideal condition for growing the Crijenak grape.
The California wine countries warm, easy going weather give Zinfandel a jammy, juicy fruitiness. Zinfandel is higher in alcohol and flavor.
Zinfandel is a versatile wine and it makes a perfect cookout wine, great with grilled burgers, sausages or chicken. It is also good with chips and dips.
Zinfandel is a perfect wine to pair with lamb. It goes great with a leg of lamb.

Pinot Noir pairs well with many foods and the fruitier versions are best with salmon or other fatty fish, roasted chicken or pasta dishes. Pinot Noir also goes with duck and other game birds. It also pairs with casseroles and stews. It goes well with pork. Pinot Noir makes a great pairing with pork loin roast. Pinot Noir will go well with just about any cuisine. It makes a great and truly spectacular meal.
If you just like to have a good meal and drink your favorite wine then that is what you should do. It does not really matter what wine you drink as long as you like it.
